1/2 Day Workshops

Half Day Workshops for all levels of experience including the absolute beginner from my home studio in Hahndorf and Duthy Street Art in Parkside. Designed to BLITZ your painting. You may not completely finish your masterpiece in that day but you will get very close and have the confidence to complete it at your own pace.

A half day dedicated to our incredibly beautiful Australian landscape … Especially our ROCKS, dry topography and weird creatures!

Oil Painters and Acrylic Painters with any level of experience are welcome.

  • When: Sunday 30 March 2025

  • Where: Duthy Street Art Supplies, Parkside

  • Times: 11:00 to 3:30pm

  • Level: Beginners to Experienced Painters welcome

  • Medium: Oil Paint and or Acrylic Paint

We will use Acrylic paint for the beginning of the painting for quick drying - oils can be used in the later stages - or continue with Acrylics.

WHAT TO BRING ON THE DAY

  • A sense of fun and willingness to ‘let go’ :)

  • A photocopied image you would like to work from. A few options would be great to have.

  • Canvas - any size, just not TOOOOOOO BIG

  • Oil Paint and Acrylic Paint, we will begin with acrylic

  • You will need basic primary colour at least: Red Yellow Blue, Black and White

  • Odourless Medium and Odourless Solvent

  • Please have your canvas covered with a layer of Gesso prior to class

  • Palette knives various sizes

  • Painting Palette

  • Various sized brushes (you may wish to use here and there)

  • 2 Jars with lids

  • Rags and paper towels

  • Baby wipes

  • Plastic bag (for your used paper towels and rags)

  • APRON

  • iPad or similar

  • Coloured pencils or pastels for your note book to try thumbnail sketches of your composition and to keep a record of colour mixes and colour palette choices for your painting.
